Outdoor Games – Kubb Game Set (Viking Skittles)

Kubb is a traditional outdoor throwing game which originated in Sweden, the objective is to knock down the ‘knights’, by throwing the circular blocks, or ‘Kubbs’, underarm from a few metres away.

Our Kubb set comes in an attractive, durable design with a handy storage bag and instruction manual.

The Kubb Set includes:

• 1 wooden throwing stock
• 12 wooden numbered skittles or ‘knights’
• Instruction book
• Mesh drawstring transport / Storage bag

Number kubb is best played on grass or hard standing. Throwers always stand on a marked throwing line 3-4 meters from the skittle and the stick must be thrown vertically from below.

Place the numbered skittles close together as shown in the manual illustration included in the kit.

Mark a throwing line 3-4 meters from the skittles.

Decide who starts throwing and who will keep track of the points. The players then take turns standing at the throwing line and trying to knock down the skittles with the throwing stick.

A skittle is not seen as knocked down if it leans against another skittle or against the throwing stick. After each throw, the skittles are set up in the place they were knocked down before the next person throws.

If a skittle is knocked down, the player gets points according to the number on the skittle. If more than one skittle is knocked down, the player gets points according to the number of knocked down skittles. For example, 3 skittles knocked down = 3 points.

If a player does not strike any skittles on three throws in a row, the player loses. The game ends when a player reaches exactly 50 points. If a player gets over 50 points, the player slips down to 25 points and must continue from there
