Description
Advanced Features and Customisable Functions:-
PowerControl
PowerControl allows you to set the maximum AC input current for both battery charging and AC loads. The MultiPlus-II prioritises appliances first and uses remaining power to charge the batteries. This prevents overloading limited AC sources, such as generators or shore power, and avoids tripping circuit breakers. The Multi Control Panel is required (not included).
PowerAssist
In addition, PowerAssist allows the MultiPlus-II to boost a limited AC power source. Whenever connected appliances demand more current than the AC supply can deliver, the unit draws additional power from the battery and operates in parallel with the AC input. Once demand decreases, the system redirects surplus AC power back into battery charging. Consequently, this feature enables the use of smaller generators and maximises available shore power.
Programmable Relay
Furthermore, the built-in programmable relay supports a wide range of applications, including generator start/stop control. By default, the relay acts as an alarm relay and de-energises during alarms or pre-alarms such as high inverter temperature, excessive input ripple, or low battery voltage.
Parallel and 3-Phase Operation
Equally important, you can connect up to six identical MultiPlus-II units in parallel to increase output power. At the same time, the system supports three-phase (Y configuration) operation. For these setups, a standard RJ45 UTP cable is required (not included).
Comprehensive Safety Protection
To ensure reliable operation, the MultiPlus-II actively protects against output short circuits, overloads, battery overvoltage and undervoltage, overheating, external AC voltage appearing on the inverter output, and excessive input voltage ripple.
WeakAC Mode
When AC quality is poor, WeakAC mode allows the charger to continue operating with heavily distorted input voltages. Although this increases input current distortion, it ensures uninterrupted charging under challenging conditions.
BatterySafe Mode
Additionally, BatterySafe mode prevents excessive gassing during fast charging by limiting the voltage rise once the gassing threshold is reached, thereby protecting overall battery health.
Storage Mode
After 24 hours without battery discharge, Storage Mode activates automatically. At this stage, the system lowers float voltage to reduce gassing and corrosion and then periodically raises voltage to absorption level. This process helps prevent electrolyte stratification and sulphation—two major causes of premature battery failure.
Bulk Protection
As an added safeguard, Bulk Protection limits bulk charging time to 10 hours, helping detect system faults such as internal battery short circuits.
Temperature Compensation
Meanwhile, the included temperature sensor adjusts charge voltage as battery temperature rises, preventing overcharging—particularly important for maintenance-free batteries.
Remote Monitoring and Control
Finally, when paired with a GX device such as Cerbo GX, you can monitor and control the MultiPlus-II locally via LAN/Wi-Fi or remotely through the VRM app or VRM portal. This allows access from a phone, tablet, laptop, or PC anywhere in the world.
