The UK is home to some of the most beautiful scenic drives in the world. Here at at Clearcut Conversions, we’ve selected three of our favourite routes:

The North Coast 500:

The North Coast 500 (NC500) is a 500-mile route that takes you on a journey through the Scottish Highlands. Along the way, you’ll see stunning lochs, rugged mountains, and historic castles. Stop off and explore stunning coastal scenery, empty white sandy beaches, and remote fishing villages on this breathtaking trip.

It’s a challenging route with narrow roads and steep inclines, but it’s well worth the effort for views of sea lochs below and snow covered peaks above.

The Lake District:

The Lake District National Park is home to some of the most picturesque landscapes in the UK. The winding roads take you past beautiful lakes, rolling hills, and quaint villages. There are many documented driving routes including trips that take in places associated with the famous poet William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

With so many places to stop off and visit within the National Park, you’ll never be short of stunning views and things to do. Park up, get out the bbq, and enjoy the wide open spaces in your campervan.

The Jurassic Coast:

The Jurassic Coast is a 95-mile stretch of coastline that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this trip, you’ll see stunning cliffs, hidden coves, and fossil-filled beaches. The route starts in Exmouth and follows the coastline to Studland Bay. Visit Lulworth Cove and it’s neighbour, Durdle Door – or explore larger towns like Lyme Regis or Dorchester.

With so much to explore, and views out to sea on most of the route, you won’t be short of stunning sunset pictures from the comfort of your van!

The North Devon Coast:

If you’re looking for a scenic drive along the North Devon coast to Cornwall, the A39, also known as the Atlantic Highway, is the perfect route for you. This road runs from Barnstaple to Newquay in Cornwall, offering stunning views of the rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and hidden coves that this region is famous for.

Along the way, you’ll be able to visit some of the most picturesque locations in this region. Look out for the quaint, cobbled streets of Clovelly or Tintagel Castle, linked with the legend of King Arthur. For big waves and a stunning backdrop, visit Trebartwith Strand, or for dramatic sea views check out the rugged coastline at Hartland Point.

There are many places to stop and visit and views in every direction. With beautiful sandy beaches, towering cliffs and a wealth of history to enjoy, this 70 mile route is a pleasure to explore.
