Do I need a 240v battery charger in my campervan

A mains hook-up battery charger can be a really useful addition to your campervan leisure battery charging system. If the weather is poor then your solar charge will be very week and if you aren’t moving the van then you won’t have the ability to recharge via your split charging. This is where 240v battery chargers are a god send. Once connected you can run all your 12v faculties such as fridge and lighting without fear of running the battery down.

How strong does my 240v battery charger need to be?

This depends on how large your battery bank is and how quickly you need to recharge. For quick recharging we would recommend at least a 15 amp  charger. The smaller 4 and 8 amp chargers are really only suitble for low power charging or trickle charging.

Can I leave my 240v battery charger connected?

Yes, all of our batteries have a float charge function which means that they will not over charge your battery if left connected.
